Anyone who is in Melbourne or can get there next weekend be prepared to get your Pinot on!

Pinot Palooza 2012 is on Sunday October 21st - Monday 22nd at Ormond Hall, St Kilda in Melbourne.
Scott will be there showing three of our Provenance Pinot Noirs - the 2011 Golden Plains , the 2010 Regional Selection Geelong  and the flagship 2010 Turas.

Come along for Pinot Noir celebration, education and of course - lots of tasting! Over 130 wines on show in fact! Tickets cost $60 which includes a Riedel Extreme Pinot Noir Glass worth $30, a copy of the James Halliday Wine Companion Magazine and a bottle of mineral water. Availability is limited and tickets are selling like hotcakes - so jump on the Pinot Palooza website  to secure a spot.

Gold medal winner!

Last night we were at the Geelong Wine Show awards dinner held at The Pier on the Geelong waterfront.
We are super proud to have received a gold medal for our 2010 Provenance Geelong Shiraz!
As always there was some fantastic Geelong wines on show.
It is always good to see the fine quality of wine that this great region produces.
A big congratulations to all the other medal and trophy winners.

Jeni recently visited us here at the winery to taste our wines and chat about all things vinous.

 2012 Wine Companion rating:

The whole team at Provenance were ecstatic and proud to receive a five star rating (outstanding winery) in the latest James Halliday Wine Companion. Our Pinot Noir received 95 points, Chardonnay 94 points and the Pinot Gris and Shiraz both receiving 93 points. Friday night drinks were unusally boisterous! Well done all!

Provenance Wines Vintage 2011

As our 2011 wines reach dryness and complete malolactic fermentation we start to see the true nature of vintage 2011. Initial insights point towards fine, lower alcohol, euro-accented styles. The truth of these wines is still to be understood but at this stage the key qualities of freshness and vitality are quite exciting.
